The tour offers options for different levels of riding ability, allowing everybody to join in. The owner promises a wonderful experience close to nature and to his beloved animals. It is worth mentioning that the riding centre was created with rescued horses, which were given love, care and the right training to give them a second chance in life.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet the animals and learn about their individual stories and what they have gone through.
Era is a 11-year-old horse, which originally came to Corfu from Bulgaria, where she was a carriage horse. There is still a tradition of 'docking' horses' tails in Bulgaria, so she had the bottom 2 joints of her tail removed to stop the hair growing too long and getting caught in the harness. Sadly for Era, this means she cannot use her tail to swish away flies during the summer. She is quiet by nature, and carries anyone from children to adults, safely and securely.
Leon is a 14-year-old chestnut gelding and a real diamond in the rough. Badly beaten and covered by scars from his previous life as a carriage horse, he came to the centre terrified of strangers, and frightened of traffic-indicating that he may have been through some traumatic experience. Now however, after receiving kindness and compassion, Leon has turned into a gem of a horse, carrying children, beginners and experienced riders, and is loved by all.
Lucia came to the centre after a life of hard labour, carrying up to three sacks of olives and her owner on her back. Now semi-retired and 38 years old, she is used for riding lessons, and the occasional ride around the olive groves. She is the safest and kindest pony one might ever meet.
