Meet your local connection in Corfu, Vasso, Effie, Sandra & the team of Corfu Sunspots! We are very proud to be part of whl.travel and to join a network of people that are concerned with the needs of local communities and the local environment to avoid the destruction of beautiful destinations like ours. In Corfu, we are active in promoting responsible tourism in our destination and have implemented a "Go Green" campaign with some accommodations that our company is managing on behalf of the owners. We also work with owners of smaller private accommodations and offer advice on how to improve their property, in order to stay competitive in the market.
We want to show travellers the true side of Corfu, beyond the beautiful scenery along with the stunning coastline and introduce visitors to the leisurely lifestyle and the hospitable local people, who are passionate, honest and extremely outgoing! In Corfu, family and friends always come first, there is always time to go for a coffee somewhere, and most things can be done tomorrow. Whenever you go to somebody's house you'll feel as if the place was just waiting for you and you'll never leave without being given some leftover food for later.
We are most proud of the traditional way of life in the villages of Corfu and also the traces of Venetian influence in the architecture throughout Corfu. Meet the team of Corfu Sunspots, a family-run business established in 1986 by Dimitris Moutsos and Athina Giakoumaki that has been growing in reputation and size ever since. Today, Corfu Sunspots is one of the largest travel agencies on the island, offering high quality services to guests from around the world, including excursions around the island, transfers, and ticketing.
As part of the Corfu Sunspots enterprise is CorfuXenos, offering incoming assistance via the internet to independent travellers. Established in 1997 as the first Corfiot tourist website, it was a frontier establishment for the island. The team of this branch consists of Vasso, Effie and Sandra. Vasso joined in CorfuXenos in 1997 and enjoys cooking, having dinner parties, and gardening in her free time. Effie joined the team in 1999 and enjoys taking care of her young children. And last but not least, Sandra, who joined in 2006, uses her free time to update the interior of accommodations and photography.
